Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
In stock Now!! This wine reveals a fragrant, complex bouquet of ripe blackberry and boysenberry complemented by notes of dark chocolate and toasty oak. Rich and smooth on the palate, the sumptuous dark fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and lush tannins with a lingering, elegant finish and a hint of minerality.
Cakebread 2019 Chardonnay, Napa Valley $49.99 (as low as $41.49 with Max WINEAUX CLUB Discount!) This is indeed a rare treat. Highly allocated Cakebread Chardonnay is one of the most popular wines in the country. We were able to acquire a small quantity for our loyal customers.
Always a huge hit, grapes come primarily from their vineyards in Carneros and begin with night harvesting, which ensures the grapes are picked cold and retain their fruit purity and bright natural acidity. After a short drive to the winery the fruit is whole-cluster-pressed further preserving freshness and purity. The juice is then transferred into French oak barrels to ferment. In order to achieve maximum fruit expression, the wine is aged on primary yeast lees for eight months with intermittent stirring of the lees to enhance texture and boost complexity. Extremely limited!
This Chard shows aromas of ripe golden apple with white peach and notes of sweet oak. On the palate, apple and pear characters are balanced by fresh acidity, and the finish is clean, with appealing mineral notes.
Winemaker Notes
The 2019 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, iris, vanilla and clove. Ruby in color, this elegant wine has great acidity and lift on the mid-palate. Black currant and warm baking spices linger with a deep and fruity finish. It will provide drinking pleasure through 2047 given proper cellaring.
Blend: 95.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, 1.9% Merlot, 0.4% Petit Verdot
