Gnarlier Head Old Vine Zin

This is Gnarly Head's Reserve Single Vineyard (Vines 50+ years old). $10.99/btl (reg. $18.99/btl)

The upgraded wine from Gnarly Head Cellars is the Gnarlier Head Zin. Sommer's vineyard, the source of Gnarlier Head grapes, is located in the western end of the Dry Creek Valley. This wine is still priced very reasonably and is a better quality wine than the standard Gnarly Head Zin. The aromas are of deep black raspberry, black cherry, clove, and a touch of candied strawberry jam. The flavors are concentrated but lush and ripe; red raspberry, black cherry, vanilla, and hints of mocha all combine to make a nice fruit forward and well balanced effort. Finishes with a touch of heat, but overall I like this wine for the price ($20 or less. 88 points

2009 Clocher Chardonnay and the blended red

This is a very well put together French Chardonnay that rivals top White Burgundies in the $55-$90/btl range. These folks are fanatical about their "Terroir Driven" South of France, Limoux Chardonnays, and it shows. Fabulous vintage, too! Whole cases of either Clocher Red or Chardonnay -- get the beautiful sealed Wood Box! Wine Not pick up a case, while it lasts!
Chardonnay $23.99/btl "net" (reg. $29.99)
Red, South of France Blend of 65% Cabernet, 20% Syrah, and 15% Merlot. $19.99/btl "net" (reg. $24.99)

Provenance, 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

$29.99/btl ($24.90 Full Wineaux Club Discount, reg. $49.99). While it lasts! This elegant Napa/Rutherford Cabernet is delightful!

Winemaker's Notes:
91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc. "Our 2007 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon greets your senses with round, inviting aromas of sun-warmed blackberry, violet, fragrant dark plum, black olive and spice," says Winemaker Chris Cooney. "Rich flavors expand across the palate, revealing deep black cherry and plum, with bittersweet chocolate nuances. Smooth, melted tannins enhance this wine's exceptionally silky texture." Tom Rinaldi adds, "I love the way the flavors culminate in a warm, dark-fruit and butterscotch finish."

Alcohol by Volume: 14.5%

Critical Acclaim:
"Aromas of fresh earth and mineral are taut and firm on the palate, with dried currant, sage, cedar and crushed rock. Full-bodied, tight and concentrated, ending with firm tannins that have a touch of chewiness. Drink now through 2020."

Old Vine Red Lot 56
This continues the tradition of consistently great wine. The aromas of the Zinfandel based blend are bright and rich with red and dark berry fruits followed by hints of earth and spice. The mouth feel is lush and full. The finish is marked with ample acidity to bring the wine to a balanced finish.
One of our most popular reds since we opened in 1982.
MENTION THIS EMAIL DEAL and it's only $9.99/btl "net" (reg. $15.99 -- in store, before discount price $13.99)

Lamarca Prosecco
Prosecco serves as an increasingly popular alternative to Champagne and is Italy's answer to refreshing, well-made sparkling wine at a reasonable price. Enjoy as apéritif or pair with mild cheeses, light hors d'oevres, salads, seafood linguine in garlic butter sauce, a lighter fish, such as sole, snapper and mahi-mahi. One of the hottest Proseccos on the market! And we have one of the hottest prices in the country right now! $12.99/btl (in store price, reg. $14.99). The Wine Seller now has on display (and many bottles and vertical collections for sale) upstairs in our Artist's and Rare Wines Loft the ENTIRE MARILYN MERLOT Vertical. That's right! Every bottle ever made and then some. We even have some of the early prototypes, EXTREMELY RARE from before the official collection began with the 1985 Vintage.

The Marilyn Merlot Vertical collection includes 12 bottles, one each of the first 12 vintages of Marilyn Merlot, 1985-1996. $10,000 OBO ($12,000 on the www.marilynwines.com site). We are offering the second "Vertical" Collection 1997-2008 at $1,275 ($1,400 on their site).

Of course, we have the current release -- the 25th Anniversary Edition, a few other recent bottlings on hand, and some older vintages available as well. If you're a Marilyn Monroe fan, or a collector of these wines, you've got to see this!

Barnard Griffin, Merlot $9.99/btl "net" (reg. $16.99/btl) WHEN YOU MENTION THIS WEB DEAL!

Vintage Notes: Dense, complex and structured. Cherry plum and red currant fruit shaded by licorice and appealing earthy accents. Vibrant acidity and tannins are well integrated into the plush texture. Pairs well with meats and cuisine that call for a full-bodied, muscular red.

Joe tasted this lovely Washington Merlot again recently and was so impressed with the plush, ripe, full flavors. so decided to run with it at this special price!

Saint-Hilaire, South of France Bubbly. France's Oldest Sparkling Wine..yes, long before there was Champagne (over 100 years before), Saint-Hilaire was making "Methode Champenoise" (of course there was no "Champenoise" in 1531 when they figured out how to make sparkling wine here, at the Abbey of Saint Hilaire). There are records that Thomas Jefferson was a customer of this delicious sparkling wine! It is rumored that the famous monk, Dom Perignon, was actually at this Abbey when he discovered how to perfect the art of making sparkling wines, but of course they can't use the name Dom Perignon since it is a Trademark owned by Moet Chandon. Only $9.99/btl "net" (reg. $16.99/btl) when you mention this web deal!

McManis Wines. One of our ALL TIME BEST SELLERS. Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Viognier, Pinot Grigio. $8.99/btl "net" (reg. $11.99/btl) when you mention this web deal (or are a current member of our Wineaux Gregarious Club)! Prices good through December 5, 2011.

Alaska Summer Ale Close Out Deal. Hey, let's face it. Summer's over, but we bought out the warehouse on this delicious, easy drinking "Kolsch Style" Ale. We love it for its deftness. (Joe is not always a big fan of heavy hopped Northwest Ales...OK so maybe he's a "beer wimp"!) Alaskan Summer Ale is made from glacier-fed water and a generous blend of European and Pacific Northwest hop varieties and premium two-row and specialty malts. Both hops and malt come together to refresh and renew the palate. $1.99/btl 22 oz. bottles. $19.99/case (reg. $3.79/ 22 oz. btl) While it lasts!

2008 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Wine

Quilceda Creek is in now, but in extremely limited supply $59.99 ($49.80 Full Wineaux Club discounted price*. Any actual discounts, if any, maybe be different) We still have a precious few bottles of the '08 Quilceda Creek Cabernet left too, but hurry if you want any.

Zonin Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

$6.99/btl. This wine offers a vivid reflection of the Mediterranean. The nose is filled with fine red fruit, distinct earth and plenty of berries. As it reaches the palate, vivid, enegetic spice, bright red plum fruit and refreshing raw black cherries give it the credentials to pair with typical Italian bistro cuisine such as pizza, pasta and risotto.
GRAPES: 92% Montepulciano and 8% Sangiovese.
FLAVOUR: Dry on the palate and gracious, with delicate and soft veining and a fine and harmonious balance.
FOOD COMBINATION: The wine can be consumed throughout a meal and makes a particularly fine accompaniment for all red meat and game dishes and savory preparations of the rural tradition.

Estancia, Paso Robles, 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

$8.99/btl "net" (regularly full price $16.99/btl, in store price $13.99/btl). Dark red garnet. Aromas of rich dried plums, with hints of vanilla and dark chocolate. Flavors of raspberries and cherries, with spicy notes of cinnamon followed by a long, rich finish. In 2009 the windy, cool weather during flowering resulted in smaller and more concentrated fruit. The result is a rich, fruity wine, complemented by spice and vanilla from the oak aging.

14 Hands Varietal Wines, formerly hidden in our back room and available by request, as these wines were, for years, supposed to be "Restaurant Only". Now that they're allowed to be sold retail, and have been showing up in all the supermarkets, The Wine Seller decided to give them a run for their money and run them at ONLY $8.99/btl "net" price, when you MENTION THIS WEB DEAL (or are a current member of our Wineaux Gregarious Club) -- regular $11.99.

14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon:Subtle flavors of boysenberry, pie crust and allspice, surrounding a bright cherry core, are supported by a framework of supple tannins and culminate with a lengthy, lush finish.

14 Hands Merlot offers classic Washington aromas of blackberries, plums and black cherries. Expressive flavors of berries and cherries are joined by subtle nuances of mocha and spice. While soft and approachable, this wine maintains a firm backbone of tannins.

14 Hands Chardonnay: Bright apple and floral aromas are complemented by light notes of vanilla and sweet butterscotch. Juicy pear and apple flavors give way to subtle touches of toast and spice and ends with a soft finish.

Scharffenberger Brut

Tasting notes:
A red fruit-forward nose with a tropical expression of litchi nut and mango. Vanilla cream character which makes for a round and full-bodied wine. After 2 years on lees there are notes of freshly baked bread and pastry that enhances the more fruit-forward style of the wine. After several months on the cork the wine develops caramel and hazelnut complexities. $19.99 regular in store price ($22.99 full price). Mention this Web Deal: Only $15.99/btl "net"

Wine maker notes:
Made by traditional Methode Champenoise process-whereby wines are individually bottle-fermented before being riddled and disgorged. The wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. Aged 2 years on lees.

Food pairings
Serve with oysters, bay scallop appetizers, rich creamy cheeses and fresh tropical fruit.
